    The National Electoral Commission (NEC) Annual Report, 2018, is written pursuant to Section 32 (12) of the Constitution of Sierra Leone, 1991 (Act No 6 of 1991) which is quoted below for ease of reference: “The Chief Electoral Commissioner shall submit a report on the programme and work of the Electoral Commission at least once a year to the President and a copy of such report shall be laid before Parliament.”

    POSTPONEMENT OF VILLAGE HEAD BYE-ELECTIONS IN WATERLOO AND COLE-TOWN IN THE WESTERN AREA RURAL DISTRICT. 1. The National Electoral Commission (NEC) wishes to inform the general public that the Village Head Bye-Elections in Waterloo and Cole-Town, slated for Saturday, 18th May 2019, has been postponed until further notice. 2. The postponement of the said Bye-elections is due to a letter received from the Office of National Security (ONS) dated 17th May 2019, recommending the postponement of the said Bye-Elections as a result of "political and ethnic tensions causing intermitent outbreak of violence which suggest a serious under current of unrest."   1. DECLARATION OF DATE FOR THE CONDUCT OF LOCAL COUNCIL BYE ELECTION IN WARD 099

    Saturday 22ndday of June2019 is hereby declared as the day for the conduct of Local Council Bye Election in Ward 099, Constituency 030, Koidu New Sembehun City in the Kono District. According to a letter from the Director of Local Government and Rural Development, dated 14th March 2019 and the Mayor of the Koidu New Sembehun City Council, dated 18th February 2019,the vacancy occurred as a result of long absence of Councillor Adama Jalloh from meetings without any reason given to the Mayor ofthe Koidu New Sembehun City Council pursuant to Section 9(1)(d) of the 2004 Local Government Act. Nominations of Candidates for the said Local Council Bye Election shall take place from Wednesday, 22nd_ Thursday, 23rd May 2019 at the NEC District Office, No. 8 Gandi Fania Street, Koidu, Kono District.
